Submitted by brookeworm: my newest piece. as most of my friends and family know, giraffes are my favorite thing. this is my first real attempt at painting something completely inspired by that love. (I think I’ve been so scared of not doing them justice that I just haven’t). But, he turned out awesome. “Stand Tall” is my new favorite piece.

Weekend Spotlight: Jon Lau!

Wow, I haven’t done a Weekend Spotlight in EONS!!! Due to my extremely hectic schedule, I just haven’t been able to find the time to keep up with the blogging world. Blasphemy, I know. :( I apologize for reblogging so much these days instead of hunting for more fabulous art and crafts to share with you! Once June comes around, I’ll be able to dedicate lots more time to A Morning Cup of Jo! Thank you so much for following. You already know how much I continue to appreciate every message, comment, like, and reblog. <3
I’m dropping by to do a Weekend Spotlight because I happened to meet an awesome artist this week!!! He’s hilarious, very down to earth, and is truly passionate about what he does. Plus, he loves working with kids and inspiring them to create (which is a HUGE bonus in my book)!
“I am an illustrator based in Los Angeles. When I sit something almost-magical happens, specifically when there is paper and a pen around. Green tea, puns, and merry bunnies make my world spin.” — Jon Lau
Stay tuned, everyone! I’ll be ‘stealing’ photos from this artist’s Tumblr (yes, he’s a Tumblrian!!!) and official website to share with you this weekend. :D

Happy Cinco de Mayo!!!
